About Me...

I am Charlie. I currently live in the lovely town of Bonnyrigg with my Husband, Mark, our Border Collie Harris and our cat Toby. I found out in September 2018 that I carry a faulty BRCA1 gene, which significantly increases my risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

Since I found out I had a BRCA mutation and because well, X-Men weren't hiring! I decided to turn a negative into a positive. I started raising money for a charity called The Eve Appeal.

How BRCAndles Was Born...

Early 2021, I decided I wanted to do something different to raise money and I wanted to give something back to people who were donating. Everyone loves a good candle, especially during those dark winter nights, snuggled with a book and the smell of Christmas fragrances filling the air or the smell of pumpkin spice on Halloween. They also make brilliant gifts for friends family work colleagues or yourself! They can be burned to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and also in memory of loved ones.

So, the idea of being able to raise money for The Eve Appeal by selling beautiful handmade 100% soy wax candles, makes me happy.
